We will soonish, more than likely, have a new album tour. The tradition seems to be to keep one, maybe two songs from the previous album in the live set list.
Which song from Autofiction do you think will still get played live?
I'd like it to be The Only Way I Can Love You, but think it will be She Still Leads Me On.
Hopefully TOYBAY, absolutely love that song!
Completely agree with Rachelastica on this; I think the impact of the album and the urgency of it live means that there will be some mainstays, a lot of them. Songs like SSLMO are already as much a part of the Suede canon as the classics imo
I hope The Only Way I Can Love You remains. Beautiful song and memories seeing it performed live. It's a shame It's Always The Quiet Ones was shy from most set lists during the AF tour. Black Ice I would be great too.
My guess would be She Still Leads Me On stays in the set, everything else will be consigned to a handful getting occasional rarities slot status.
I do hope it will be Shadow Self and Black Ice. I fear Black Ice will end up as an underrated gem
I'd be happy to hear 'It's Always The Quiet Ones' at every gig from now until the end of time, but that's very much personal bias talking !
'TOYBAY' is a rather perfect live opener, and i also think 'Shadow Self' works extremely well as a mid-set 'rangefinder' -so I can see that one staying around for years to come too.
I think the success of the album compared to the last few will result in us keeping more Autofiction songs. I expect SSLMO will stick around like Starts and Ends or maybe even more permanent than that, and I hope we get to keep TOWICLY, Personality Disorder and Shadow Self as frequent guests too.
