Do you think they speak at all?
Simon always seems the most annoyed at Bernard for the Dog Man Star tensions. I've heard Bernard say that Simon is a great drummer but Simon never seems to have anything nice to say about Bernard. Obviously Brett and Bernard made peace and Matt always has nice things to say.
I remember Bernard and Mat occasionally coming into each other's orbits on Twitter and appearing to get on. I have a memory of hearing that Simon vetoed Brett inviting McAlmont & Butler playing at Suede's early 2000s farewell shows but Bernard says he was invited by Brett to appear at one of the Brixton Academy album shows so presumably that had Simon's blessing.
Bernard mentioned at a show last year that people keep asking him if he still sees various people from the 90s and asking them in response how many people they knew thirty years ago they're still in touch with - and it's a fair point, I look down my Facebook friends list and 3/4 of it is old school friends and people I worked with in the 2000s that I've basically not spoken to since, not because I don't like them but just my life and theirs has moved on. And I think it's more so when that time of your life was difficult and the relationships were difficult, sometimes those relationships take work to rebuild only to find you don't actually have that much to say to each other anyway. Sometimes the past is better just being left as the past, really.
I would guess probably not. They were coworkers 30 years ago, I don't know why people expect them all to still have a relationship beyond civil words when they're asked about each other by lazy journalists.
